Scion's Ten-Year Anniversary Marked with Scion 10 Series Music Release Compilation

Scion is releasing a 10-track compilation to mark its 10-year anniversary featuring artists they’ve worked with in the past as well as a few new ones entitled, Scion 10 Series Music Release. From the legendary rock group Melvins, to Detroit techno luminary Moodymann, to famed hip-hop producer Harry Fraud, and retro pop synthesizers Chromatics, unreleased tracks from the Scion A/V archives will be showcased.

The tracks from the compilation will be released over the next several weeks starting with The Melvins “Dr. Mule” and JonWayne “Rap Robbery”on May 28. Toyota Donates $250,000 to Oklahoma Tornado Relief Efforts

Toyota announced a $250,000 donation to support relief and rebuilding efforts for victims of the tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma and the greater Oklahoma City area on May 20.  Funds will be allocated to immediate response and for mid-to-long term needs in the areas of food, small business revitalization and home rebuilding.  Toyota will also match employee contributions.

“On behalf of Toyota, we express our sincere condolences to everyone impacted by this devastating tornado. Our thoughts are with the affected families as they work to rebuild their lives,” said Latondra Newton, group vice president of philanthropy and chief diversity officer.

Keeping your paint finish in good condition

Only choose superior car detailing supplies to keep your car's interior and exterior like new. There are plenty of decent quality waxes and polishes on the market today and if the last time you waxed or polished your car was over a decade ago, things have changed considerably since then. The wax and polish compounds are far more sophisticated both in terms of protection from fading, the look of the finish, and the ease of application. For example Turtle Wax Ice gets rid of that old problem of white wax residue. Is a clean car a vanity thing? Partly, yes, but if you park under a tree where birds help repaint your car with recycled blueberries, that guck will come off a lot easier if it falls on a waxed paint job.

Tip: If you find a bird has pooped on your car, wash it off as quick as you can. There are compounds in bird waste that can damage most car paint jobs. If you leave it in the sun and the poop bakes on, you could end up with a dull spot in the paint.
Also: If you want to show your support for a cause, car magnets are better than bumper stickers. They don't damage the paint and are easy to move around and ultimately remove when the fad has passed.

Consumer Reports Names Toyota Prius, Highlander and Scion FR-S Top Picks for 2013

For the 10th consecutive year, Consumer Reports chose the Toyota Prius hybrid its top green car, according to USA Today.  The Toyota Highlander was the top midsized sport utility vehicle, and the Scion FR-S tied with Subaru’s BRZ as the top sporty car.

Prius continues to offer the best Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-estimated fuel economy, at 44 mpg overall, of any five-passenger, non-plug-in vehicle, according to the magazine.  The editors also gave thumbs up to the EPA-estimated 41 mpg Prius v.

Top Picks must meet Consumer Reports’ stringent criteria in three areas:  road test, reliability and safety.  The winners are chosen from more than 280 tested models because they’re “impressive all-around vehicles.”
